Yummy Baked Salmon

Salmon fish is probably one of the yummiest and healthiest foods you can eat. Not only does it contain a huge number of vitamins and antioxidants that are sure to make your skin glow, the taste will leave you craving more even after you’ve had your second serving! Don’t be intimidated by the thought of cooking this delicious dish, it’s actually way easier that you probably expected! Here’s what you’ll need:

2 salmon steaks

Juice of one lemon

1 tablespoon of sea salt (you can use regular salt if you don’t have sea salt)

2.5 tablespoons olive oil

3 sprigs of thyme

2 cloves of garlic

1 handful of parsley

A pinch of basil


Make a marinade for the salmon by mixing together the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, garlic, and basil. Combine these ingredients in a large bowl and mix together. Once you’ve mixed them add in the two steaks of salmon (make sure they’ve been thoroughly defrosted!) and leave for at least an hour in the fridge.

In the meantime line a baking sheet with foil paper and preheat your oven to exactly 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Remove your salmon fish from the marinade and place on the baking sheet. Drizzle the remaining marinade over the fish and place it in the oven to bake for around 20 – 25 minutes.

Make sure to check up on your fish periodically while it is in the oven. It’s never a good idea to cook fish for too long because the meat gets tough and looses its taste.

After your fish has cooked, take it out of the oven immediately. Garnish it with the thyme and parsley leaves and serve while its still hot. If you’re looking for something to serve with this dish, brown rice and steamed veggies go really well with salmon!

Regardless of whether you serve the fish on its own or with rice, this is sure to be one tasty dinner you wont forget any time soon!
